A youtube channel that I have watched for a long time and that has definitely inspired me to pursue baitmaking and to just create things in general is Marling Baits. He is very passionate about the art of baitmaking and all things that go with it, and it is very obvious how much it means to him when watching his videos. Most of his videos start with finding inspiration and then creating a plan for a new lure. The rest of his video proceeds with him putting this plan into fruition and then eventually fishing with this lure.
Although, I do not feel as if I am anywhere close to this skill level or talent...YET....I am using him and all of the information he provides as inspiration. I love how positive he is and how he is still able to let his personlity and humor shine, but still being able to be informing and entertaining. He is very talented at making exceptionally detailed designs on such small areas. My goal is to have more detailed lures, and I will achieve this by trying to emulate some of his techniques in order to do this.
His inspiration will tie more into my actual making and painting of lures, and not necessarily the brand kit side of my capstone project.
